Definitions
21st Century Learning Learning that focuses on critical/creative
thinking, collaboration, communication, self-direction, global
awareness and cultural literacy.
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) The practice of allowing
learners and teachers to bring their own devices and incorporate
them into their teaching and learning.
Device An electronic tool that can be connected to a network
(computer, e-reader, laptop, smart phone, tablet, iPod/mp3 player,
video game system).
Digital Citizenship - The appropriate and responsible use of
technology.
Network A series of devices that can communicate and share
files with one another. Access to the Anthony Paddon
Elementarys computer network is secure and private.
Network Access The opportunity to use a network, contingent
on responsible use.
Smart Phone A cellular telephone that can access networks
using wi-fi or cellular connectivity.
Wi-fi - A network that allows wireless devices to connect to the
internet or private networks.
