Stakeholder Analysis

Stakeholder Analysis
Stakeholder Analysis is defined as framework
to map and then manage relationships with
groups who affect and are affected by the
organizations policies and actions.
It does not have to result from crisis situation.
It can be used as a planning method to
anticipate actions and reactions to events and
policy outcomes.
One goal of stakeholder analysis is to create
win-win situation.
Here win-win means making moral/ethical
decisons that are profitable to all stakeholders.

Mapping stakeholder relationships
Mapping stakeholder coalitions
Assessing the nature of each stakeholders
interest
Assessing the nature of each stakeholders
power
Constructing a matrix of stakeholder moral
responsibilities
Developing specific strategies and tatics
Monitoring shifting coalitions

1. Mapping Stakeholder
Relationships
Major concerns of this step are:
Who are our stakeholders currently?
Who are our potential stakeholders?
How does stakeholder affect us?
How do we affect stakeholder?

Customers
safe products, relaible service, honest
information, fair treatment & protection from
harmful service/product
Suppliers/Distributors/Retailers
Fairness, trusthfulness in agreements and
contracts, honest information & timely payment
Competitors
Promote open markets, follow laws & act
ethically
Communities and Society
Respectlaws and rights, respect values & be a
good citizen

Governamnet
Law abiding, follow fair procedures & prmote
health and saftey

2. Mapping Stakeholder Coalitions


Coalition among and between stakeholders
Stakes that they have or seek to have in
common
Sometimes different interest groups/
stakeholder will join forces against a common
enemy
