Research Question: With cloning becoming more possible and with the talk about its medical
advancements, is it really a understood and controlled invention?
Working Thesis Statement: Cloning procedures could make great leaps in the medical field and
future health issues, but the idea of human cloning is risky and unethical.
Refined Thesis Statement: Cloning procedures are becoming more successful and could make
great leaps in the medical field, but cloning is still not fully understood and many people see it as
unethical and risky.
Annotated Bibliography
Badertscher, Eric. "Counterpoint: The Problem Of Cloning." Points Of View: Cloning
(2015): 6. Points of View Reference Center. Web. 4 May 2015.
This source is about the problems with cloning research. It talks about how the cloned creatures
are at a high risk for diseases and syndromes. Eric Badertscher argues that cloning human beings is
unethical and is immoral. The article talks about how that plant and animal cloning should be limited, and
human cloning should be banned completely. Badertscher argues that we are not even ready for human
cloning, because we have not completely understood the process of it. The scientific field does support
human cloning, but does see a reason for plant and animal cloning. This article will help support my claim
by how it points out the negative things about human cloning, and still talks about the positive things that
can come from it in different ways.

Farrell, Courtney, and Rosalyn Carson-Dewitt. "Cloning: An Overview." Points Of View:

Cloning (2015): 1. Points of View Reference Center. Web. 4 May 2015.
This paper talks about the facts and statistics of the different types of cloning. Farrell and
Rosalyns article gives me the information without being biased towards one side. This article also gives
me the history of cloning and talks about the steps it has taken to expand and become more advancement.
Farrell and Rosalyn talk about how the facts and numbers show cloning is more likely to happen in the
near future with plants and animals, instead of humans. This source talks about the positives and
negatives of each type of cloning. This article will help support my claim, because it will give me the
statistical and factual parts to show that the animal and plant cloning field needs to continue to grow,
while human cloning does not need to be attempted.

Pearson, John. "Point: The Benefits Of Cloning Research." Points Of View: Cloning (2015):
Points of View Reference Center. Web. 4 May 2015.
John Pearson talks about the many possibilities of human cloning and the huge medical
advancements that could come from it. This article talks about the numerous amount of diseases
that could be treated or even completely destroyed from human cloning. Pearsons work is also
about the many possibilities in the animal and plant fields of cloning. It talks about the growing
research in stem cell cloning and somatic cell nuclear transfer. The source talks about the
realistic consequences of cloning a specimen. It says that the idea of cloning is still an idea and
very far away from happening. This article will help support my claim that there are many
opportunities and advancements with cloning, just that it is more realistic to consider it with
plants and animals than with humans.
