Mr. Seagers American History Class
Please read, sign, and have your student return to class.
Classroom Expectations:
1. Students should bring all materials to class daily. (textbook, journal, writing utensil, etc.)
2. No food, drink, or gum allowed in the classroom.
3. No late work accepted after five school days. (Any exceptions need to be approved by the
teacher.)
4. Students will be assigned to a seat and should remain in their seats unless given
permission by the teacher.
5. Students should be on time to class. (Tardies and absences will be addressed according to
school policy guidelines.)
6. Disrespect, bullying, or any other inappropriate behaviors will not be tolerated in the
classroom. (Any violations will be addressed according to school policy guidelines.)
7. Students who are absent are responsible for obtaining their missed assignments or
activities.
8. Detentions will be assigned as needed for off task or disruptive behavior or tardies. (This
is in accordance to school guidelines.)
9. Parents and guardians will be contacted periodically by phone or email to be provided
updates about their student in this class.
10. Cheating or dishonesty will result in a zero on the assignment or activity. (All grades will
be issued according to school policy and guidelines.)
Parents or Guardians,
My name is Brent Seager and I will be your childs American History teacher this year, I
look forward to the opportunity to work with your student in the classroom. I also look forward
to meeting you during the open house or parent-teacher conferences. In the classroom, the
students will follow the classroom expectations. If you have any concerns, please feel free to
contact me at the school or via email. Some daily classroom activities will include a warm up
journal activity, classroom lecture, notes, independent work, text book readings, classroom
discussions, field trips, virtual field trips, guest speakers, and many other exciting activities. The

students will also be using the library and computer labs to complete the two major projects at
the end of both semesters. Please have the necessary forms signed and returned to the school, in
order for your student to have access to these resources. Occasionally, guest speakers will be in
the classroom, and parents and guardians will be sent emails regarding the time and dates of
guest speakers. Also, several field trips are scheduled this year, and the necessary forms and
paper work will need to be completed in order for your student to attend and participate in these
trips. If you have any additional concerns, questions, or comments, please feel free to contact
me. We can discuss any concerns or set up a time to meet.
