show that, individual tutoring that
supplements the regular curriculum, either
during school or outside of regular school
hours, can boost student achievement.

these courses along
with the necessary

I'm writing to praise

your Saturday School efforts! Jared
Hernandez, a freshman in my Biology class,
just BLEW the rest of his class away on
his unit test this past Monday. (And by blew
away I mean no other student even came
within 6 questions of him- that is a lot). This is
not typical for Jared. Bright kid, but the study
skills are usually lacking. I asked him what he
did differently and he said, "I had to go to

AVID Saturday School and

study!

Enabling
Others to
Act

I was a true teacher leader through this

process, and did not default to doing
the work on my own.

Encouraging
the Heart

I saw growth in my ability to enable my

team to act and praise them for a job
well done.

tremendously

Reflect and refine

Set goals and

work toward
achieving them.
Continue working
toward goals
even when you
