Sohn, Emily. "Mt. Everest: Why Do People Keep Climbing It? : DNews." DNews. 22 Apr. 2014.
Web. 23 Mar. 2015.
This article was written by Emily Sohn. She writes for Discovery News with a
central focus on topics about the environment. Emily Sohn has traveled throughout the
world which also gives her knowledge on adventure. She is a credible journalist that
written many articles for Discovery News and five of which were on Mt. Everest. This
articles talks about why people climb Mt. Everest and has quotes from climbers who have
made it to the top of the mountain.
In my discussion I wanted to use Mt. Everest as an example for one of the
adventures people crave. Its a dangerous climb and deaths have resulted from it, but yet
people are willing to take the risk for an attempt to complete the excursion.
This source is credible because it has people who experienced it firsthand. They
tell what prompted them to take the adventure. Discovery news is also a reputable place
to find articles.

Wallenstein, Gene. The Pleasure Instinct: Why We Crave Adventure, Chocolate, Pheromones,
and Music. Hoboken, N.J.: John Wiley & Sons, 2009. Print.
The Pleasure Instinct was written by Gene Wallenstein in 2009. Wallenstein is a
well-known neuroscientist and expert in the biology of emotions. He has written several
articles for scientific journals and another book called Mind, Stress, and Emotions: The
New Science of Mood. This book talks about peoples urge to feel good.
This book is relevant to my article because it explores the roots and evolution
behind looking for pleasure. One of my points in my article is to stress the biological
factor of why humans crave adventure. I could use this as a source to strength support on
my argument.
This a credible source because the man who wrote it study this topic for years. He
is an expert in the field of neuroscience and human emotion. The book was also been
published for a few years now by a reputable publishing company.

Crawford, Daniel. "Why Do You Crave Adventure?" In The Maze. 5 Oct. 2012. Web. 25 Mar.
2015.

There isnt much about the author of this article, Daniel Crawford. The article
talks about the three main reasons people crave adventure.
This article is the same topic as mine. Reading it gave me new ideas I can use
when writing my own. It showed a new perspective that I hadnt thought of.
This source is not one of the most credible source I found. The website isnt
reliable because it is a new outlet or educational website. I also couldnt find anything on
the author. There isnt much fact surrounding it. But, the article did give me a new idea to
use for my own.
