is used for the narration
as the one at the start.

There is no music at
the beginning, however
further in there are
sounds of crying and
general background
noise to set the scene.

Characterisation
One of the main
characters is a Madame,
she is very posh, well
speaking and talks of trips
to Paris and being well off.
Setting
It is set in a manor house, very
old fashioned house and
surroundings. There is mention
of sitting rooms and ball rooms
full of people and guests. There
is a girl crying and music
playing so the mother has
gone to comfort her.
Speech
The speech in this radio
drama is very upper class,
the narrator is very clear
and well spoken. The script
has very elegant words in it
so that the feel of wealth is
shown throughout and keep
all the characters very
sophisticated.
Music
The music used is very
classical music by a
grand piano. There are
not very many sound
effects however a lot
of ambient music to
set the scene and
atmosphere.
