Assessment of Learning
(List all assessment and state if it is formative or summative)

This whole class lesson and activity is formative assessment. Students will be learning this sound for
the first time so it is vital that each student understands the concept of this lesson. Students should be
able to confidently categorise words into the different letters. Students should also be able to
understand that ie, y, igh and i_e make the long i sound. Students participation will be monitored and I
will make a note of any students that are falling behind. Making sure I follow up with them during the
craft activity.

Evaluation
This lesson will allow me to see which students excel with their sound and spelling and which students
need further guidance. I will also reflect on how well the students engaged during the lesson. I will
reflect on students behaviour and how I can improve on my behaviour management skills, making note
of which students should not sit together.
