Lauren Wright

Tarleton State University alumna

Lauren Wright continues to carry her
skills and knowledge she acquired
through her college career through
her journey as an event coordinator.
May 2014, Lauren graduated with
a Bachelor of Science in communication studies emphasizing in public
relations and event management
with minors in technical writing and
business. Through her college career,
she only skipped one class. Lauren
was a very studious student and was
terrified of missing class she feared
of missing something that may have
occurred in class. This continues to
carry on in her day-to-day life after
college. She states, Even on my days
off I feel like I should be working.
She admitted how the PREM
program has guided her into the
current position she achieved after
graduation. Dr. Wakefield posted an
internship opportunity at Clark Gardens on Wakefields Professionals.
I applied and got the internship for
the summer. Clark Gardens hired me
on as a part-time during my senior
year of college, and then hired me
as full time after graduation. Lauren
continues to have hands-on experi-

ence at Clark Gardens where she is

constantly learning something new
each and every day.
While in college, Lauren wishes
she could have taken Karley Goens
speech class again. She explained
her love for this class and the energy
this particular professor taught with.
Karley Goen made me feel confident about public speaking.
Lauren was a Texan Rep at one
point in her college career. Lauren

enjoyed showing potential TSU

students how great Tarleton is and
teaching future students Tarleton
traditions. Lauren was involved in the
Texans for Christ student ministry on

TSU campus. She served as president

and vice president and enjoyed every
moment of it. She met her closest
friends through the ministry and
enjoyed growing spiritually together.
Memories last for a lifetime.
Laurens favorite memory while in
college was the friendships she made
within the PREM program. Watching all of us grow from students to
professionals was pretty amazing.

Long hours of studying doing homework, panicking about find a job after
graduation, the stress of classes,
everything that came with the major
was worth it with these girls. I could
not have done it without every single
one of them, Lauren said.
Months after graduation, Lauren soon realizes the one thing she
misses the most about her college
career. Naps! She describes naps as
nonexistent in the real world. Even
on her day off she does not have the
time to relax or simply take a nap.
Lauren wants to give words of
advice to future and current PREM
students. She wholeheartedly said
Give 110 percent on everything.
Its all worth it in the end. Lauren
understands the struggle but now
knows how the outcome has given
her hope. The knowledge she has
gained has guided her onto the right
path and the most fitting career
choice.
The last thing Lauren would like
to add is an inspirational quote by Zig
Ziglar, If it doesnt challenge you it
wont change you. Lauren lives life
above and beyond her expectations.
