- WELCOME Beacon Psychological Services, PLLC is located along the

Oswego River. Beacon offers a wide range of psychological
treatment services, provided by a dedicated team. Founded
by Scott Mooney, Ph.D and Katherine Daskalakis, Ph.D, their
goal is to continue growing their practice and provide their
clients with quality care. Beacon strives to be a beacon of
light to help guide the way to those who need it.

APRIL 2, 2015: We are happy to announce that Nancy Natale-

Radecki has begun to see clients at Beacon Psychological Services,

PLLC.

NOVEMBER 28, 2014: We are excited to announce that Beacon

Psychological Services, PLLC will be running the following groups:
Anger Management, Stress Management, and Parenting Classes.

OCTOBER 24, 2014: Beacon Psychological Services, PLLC has a

successful open house.

JUNE 2, 2014: Beacon opens for buisness!

CONTACT

Our mission is to bring a group of skilled professionals together to

offer quality psychological treatment to the city of Oswego and the
surrounding community. Our goal is to function as a treatment
team in assisting our clients by incorporating collaborative efforts of

BEACONS HISTORY
The building dates back to 1880 and still houses some of the
original brick and wooden beams. At one time it was used
by Nestl, once located in Fulton, NY, to store cocoa beans.
Scott Mooney, Ph.D and Katherine Daskalakis, Ph.D fell in
love with the buildings location and beauty. The build out for
Beacon started in March 2014 and was opened for business in
June of 2014.

Scott Mooney, Ph.D

Co-Founder of Beacon Psychological Services, PLLC

As a Psychologist, Dr. Mooney has learned how therapy helps an individual recognize
the issues underlying their symptoms, and learn how to resolve these issues by teaching
new methods of coping. Dr. Mooney believes that the answers often lie within the client,
and therapy is a journey of removing barriers to self improvement and understanding. A
safe and supportive environment is imperative in order to establish the relationship necessary for this exploration. Dr. Mooney also specializes in treating children, adolescents,
and couples, integrating a systems approach in resolving family conflict.
Dr. Mooney has experience working with anxiety and depression, as well as the underlying issues which create such emotional disorders. A dynamic approach designed
to increase understanding may be employed. At times, cognitive-behavioral therapy is
indicated to alleviate the symptoms.

Co-Founder of Beacon Psychological Services, PLLC

Dr. Daskalakis (Dr. D) has many interested when it comes to treating patients. She
enjoys working with children, teens, adults, as well as couples. She also provides expert
testimony to various courts in Oswego County and surrounding counties. Dr. Daskalakis
also conducts psychological testing to clarify diagnoses questions as well as court ordered
evaluations. Dr. Daskalakis uses cognitive behavioral techniques as well as dialectical behavioral techniques to reduce intense symptomology in patients experiencing symptoms of
Borderline Personality Disorder. Her wry sense of humor and lovely personality helps her
patients feel more comfortable during their journey of exploring their personal issues and
improving their lifestyle.

Nancy A. Natale-Radecki,
LCSW-R

Nancy A. Natale Radecki, LCSW-R, is a Psychiatric Social Worker and a Medical Social
Worker with twenty plus years of clinical practice and experience treating families, couples,
individuals, and groups. Since 1992 she has worked in the CNY communities of Syracuse,
Auburn, and Oswego. She received her LMSW in 1994 and her LCSW in 2005, with the
R privilege granted in 2014. Mrs. Radecki utilizes an integrative approach to clinical
practice and specializes in a variety of treatment modalities including CBT, Family Systems
Theory, Freudian concepts, Life Stage Development Theory, Grief and Loss concepts, and
Brief/Short Term therapies. Mrs. Radecki has extensive experience working with a broad
range of populations and a focus on treating the LGBT community, adolescents and young
adults (ages 15-25 years), those with relationship issues and interpersonal conflicts, aging
adults with grief and loss issues/ health problems, and those struggling with mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.

Dr. Ruskowski is a New York State licensed psychologist who has maintained a psychotherapy
practice in Oswego for more than 25 years. In addition, he has taught psychology as a member of
the graduate faculty at SUNY Oswego. Now semi-retired, his practice is currently conducted on a
part-time basis. While skilled in psychological assessment and consultation, Dr. Ruskowskis primary focus is on providing therapy for individuals of all ages in a safe, supportive and confidential
environment. Dr. Ruskowski believes that unpleasant and sometimes debilitating conditions such
as depression, excessive worry, relationship difficulties and loss of work or academic efficiency often
occur when important personal needs and goals are not being adequately met. In such instances,
Dr. Ruskowski may assist the individual to gain a clearer perspective of her/his needs and goals and
to develop ways of achieving them and finding greater personal satisfaction and fulfillment. Interventions may include those drawn from psychodynamic, cognitive and behavioral frameworks with
the goal of helping the individual to achieve her/his desired outcomes. Beyond symptom management or removal, Dr. Ruskowski offers guidance for the personal and transpersonal growth of individuals who are interested in continuing the process of self-exploration.

Beacon Psychological Services, PLLC provides the community with:
