*Instructional Input or Procedure

Read Daniel 5
Explain that Daniel showed confidence in Gods omniscience in guiding Daniel to interpret the
words written on the wall. Daniel did not question the interpretation or wonder if it was correct.
Daniel courageously told the king the message God had revealed to him, even though the
message might have made the king very angry. The message was a prophecy. Daniel did
not want the kings reward because he knew his ability to interpret the writing came from God
and not his own wisdom.
*Check for Understanding
What were King Belshazzar and the leaders doing at the banquet?
What was the meaning of the message on the wall?
How did Daniel know the meaning of the message?

*Guided Practice

Assessment
Teacher observation
*Closure
Why can you have confidence in God?
God is all-knowing. How can this fact help you with a problem or difficult situation?
Lesson Critique. To be completed following the lesson. Did your students meet the objective(s)? What
part of the lesson would you change? Why?

This story seemed unfamiliar to the students, maybe at the beginning of tomorrows lesson we
can show a video depicting the writing on the wall so that the students can visualize it.
After grading the assessment given on 3/19, the students needed more emphasis on the definition
of omnipotence. It is such an important term and quality of God that they need to understand it.
