1. List of keywords
Happy, Happiness, Successes, Affects, Lifestyle, Friends and family, Health, Work,
Science, World
These key words helped me narrow down my topic of the affects of happiness on our
everyday lives. I want to know how happiness affects peoples lifestyles and the lives of
people around us. Most of these words are connected to each other because I tried to
make major subjects that go along with our daily lives, like friends and family, work and
success, health, and science. I tried to use UNCCs library website and database but I
found it took confusing. I wanted to look for a book and I found it difficult to do that. So
I decided to use good scholar and that helped me a lot.

Synthesis/evaluation of sources
Happiness is a very broad topic, and it took me some time to figure out how I
wanted I approach this topic and how what direction I wanted to go in. Once I narrowed
down my topic, the affects of happiness, finding sources was not very difficult for me.
When it came down to making a concept map I had two routes to use. My first was to
have the affects of happiness in the middle and have different branches off of it of
different subjects that relate to the affects of happiness. These branches were going to be
health, science, friends & family, the world & society, and others main topics/subjects
that dealt with what happiness affects. I then decided to go a different route, the one
above.
This concept map makes better connections between each branch. I tried to
connect each branch like a circle because each source is connected to each other or all
them. Health and science are related because health is a part of science, but they are
different because health went more in-depth with the body and mind, while science was
more about the break down of where happiness comes in the brain. The science of being
happy also went along with if we can make ourselves happy and what capabilities we

have, how science determines how we make ourselves happy. That also went along with
happiness and kindness to others, if we can make ourselves happy, can we make other
people happy? And then happiness as a whole connects to every source. Happiness and
kindness explains with case studies and data which relates to the science of happiness. In
the book Happiness, each chapter deals with different aspects of happiness. It shows
the psychology side dealing with both health and science; it also dealt with the
interactions between people and the daily routines and lifestyle choices.
