The students will understand that utilizing
credible sources is imperative in order to
compile the best research.
The students will know the characteristics of
credible sources.
The students will be able label the provided
sources either credible or not credible.
The students will be able to work effectively
with their peers to develop a rubric for
evaluating credible sources.
WebQuest
Sources (listed on Resources page of
WebQuest)
1. Students will get into groups of three.
Students will take on the roles of recorder,

presenter, and editor.


2. Students will look through the sources,
noting any similar or different
characteristics they notice.
3. Students will sort the sources into two
groups: sources that they believe to be
credible and sources they do not believe to
be credible.
4. Students will then create a rubric (using the
characteristics they noticed) for evaluating
sources.
5. Students will present their findings and
explain their rubric in the presentation.
Students will articulate why it is important to
use only credible information. Students will
state how they will use what they learned
during this activity in their lives.
6. Students will tweet about what they learned
over the course of the Webquest.
Evaluation: At the end of the WebQuest,
students will be evaluated using the rubric
posted under the Evaluation section on the
website. Additionally, students will fill out the
rubric and evaluate their own performance
during the WebQuest. See below for rubric.
Additionally, students will tweet about what
they learned over the course of the Webquest
with the hashtag #ENGL12WQ.
