The hardest decision most people have to make when they go to college is picking a
career. Many people dont care what career as long as they make big money, but this is the worse
choice possible. You should really focus on the personality, interest, and values when you are
focusing on a career. According to www.typefocus.com the career that fits my personality,
interest, and values is Industrial Safety and Health Engineers. This is because I am a creative
thinker, investigative, and value achievement.
An Industrial Safety and Health Engineer must need to review new machines and
equipment to make sure they meet safety requirement and they also install safety devices. I like
this duty because I always liked to study new toys I got to see how they work, so this seems to be
a well fit. Other duties that must be taken care of is being up to date with regulations and
evaluate safety programs and amend it if needed. To me personality this is the worst part because
you would have to contentiously study to be up to date with rules and regulations. Finally and the
most important task is to make sure that the building or product passes health inspection. This
duty is alright for me the only problem I have is if I have to meet a though deadline. I think an
Industrial Safety and Health Engineer must of the characteristic of being social because they
have to communicate with different type of people. I also believe that they must be investigative
since they have to I investigate and solve health violations and other problems. Also it seems
realistic for a health engineer to be conventional since it has to follow guide lines to the letter.
According to www.typefocus.com I have Conventional and Investigative as my interests result
and I also have conventional which I believe can also be appropriate for this career.
In order to reach my perfect job I need to have Bachelors degree in engineering and a
degree in physical science or mathematics wouldnt hurt. Many people after their bachelors

degree they take a 2 or 4-year engineering technology degree. Also to get a license in every state
you need to take a ABET accredited program. North central University offers Masters and
Doctorate programs to become a Health Engineer. Another College that offers programs related
to health engineering is ITT technical institute. Another schools that offer related programs
are University of North Dakota, Grand Valley State University, Southeastern Louisiana
University, University of Central Oklahoma, University of Wisconsin, The University of Texas,
Indiana State University. The typical health and safety engineer works for 40 hours a week. They
normally work in offices, but every so often they need to go to worksites and require a bit of
traveling. They might also work in cramped spaces and the work could very physical. As a result
of this the job could be very stressful since some working condition arent the best environment
to be doing to job. This is also my dislike about the environment. A health and safety engineer
usually have discipline in other engineer jobs and work under experienced engineers. After they
become a Health and Safety Engineer they might seek a supervisor job. The salary range for a
experience Health and Safety Engineer is from $ 84,940 to $ 149,180. They also receive about
7% in bonuses, 5% in Social Security Benefits, 3% in 401K, 1% in Disabilities, 4% in
Healthcare, 5% in Pension, 9% in Time Off ( % are base according to base wage). This seems
more than plenty enough to support me and my way of life even though it would take a lot of
time to be a Safety and Health Engineer V which is the more experience of them all. The
occupation outlook for this career is 11% increase from 2012 to 2022 which is as fast as the
average, but they expect the percentage to increase because of the retirement of older engineers.
This career fits my interest, my personality, and my values well so this could be the best suitable
job for me and my future.

In conclusion, according to my overall personality the most perfect job for is an Industrial
Safety and Health Engineer. This is a good idea because it makes good money and fits me well
so I am very certain that it would come naturally to me with little or no difficulty.
