knowledge and observe and root for the success of one another.

Educational leadership is the foundation of good schools.
Partners With a Vision
McDonell Area Catholic Schools partnered with Saint Marys University of Minnesota
(SMU) to pioneer a program that would build internal school leadership to help grow a
culture of educational excellence. With the financial help of a community of supporters,

and credit options

the collaboration began the summer of 2012.

commitment fee (This cost only applies to
faculty who are employed with McDonell Area
Catholic Schools)

Education for Life


McDonell Area Catholic School faculty from grades preK-12 may enroll in the graduate
education program designed for teacher leaders. The program consists of taking courses that
are integrated with the school mission and goals and nurtures a culture of education
excellence and entire school district reform. Graduates of the program will be recognized as
teacher leaders and earn a M aster of Arts in Education degree.
Each semester, all faculty and administration participate in workshops and receive information
that is in alignment with the graduate program training.
Teachers who are not in the masters program may take courses and workshops for continuing
education credit. All teachers are invited to attend sessions with the graduate group.
Parents and community are given information and tools on how to support their children grow
in mind, body, spirit and community. This information is in alignment with the teachers and
leaders training.
