SERIAL WEB DRAMA

A serial web drama is where there are several episodes as a
pose to 1 or 2 episodes in the drama which allow for greater
detail as the general playing times of the serial web dramas
are longer than the single web dramas.

47TH FLOOR
The 47th Floor is the only HISTORICAL SCI-FI
series on the internet based on true stories.
Writer/Creator/Producer Gary O. Bennett
weaves true facts from current and past
history all the way back to the Nagasaki bomb.
Scientific possibilities have occurred due to
radioactive fallout that has affected survivors
of the bomb and their offspring.
The 47th Floor is a serial web drama as they
have 195 episodes in their first series, which is
the series they are still going through, my
thoughts on this web drama is that they
incorporate very simple camera angles and
effects, this works well for the drama as these
are the main characteristics of any web drama.

REGULATORS
In a steam punk future, a group of
outlaws tries to save their nation from a
corrupt religious leader.
The Regulators is a serial web drama
which has 14 episodes in their first
season and is also releasing a second
season. The action packed drama has a
large number of fight scenes which are
accompanied by very fast paced shots,
edgy music and quality editing,
together these aspects create a very
entertaining show which has given them
a place on the Blip TV spotlight

THURSTON
"Thurston" is a Western drama about residents
of a remote mining town and their struggle for
survival in the Kansas Ozarks.
Thurston is a serial web drama and has 16
episodes spanning over three seasons; the third
of which still has episodes to come. The web
series uses slower paced shots compared to the
majority of other serial web dramas; I feel this is
mainly because of the genre of the show as most
of the web dramas on Blip TV are action based
which include a large abundance of fight scenes
and effects whereas Thurston is a Western
drama which focuses more on the story by
including a large amount of dialogue scenes. My
general opinion on Thurston is that the show
creates tension at the end of most of the
episodes which is resolved at the start of the
next episode.

SINGLE WEB DRAMA

A single web drama is where a show has no seasons/series and
only has 2-3 episodes, an example of how these would be
titled is episode 2 of 3 as a pose to episode 2. Single web
drama episodes can span anywhere from 10 minutes and
episode to an hour.

MYTHOS
There is a difference between the stories we
believe and the stories we tell. -- A characterdriven, mythology-based web series about
mortality, family, love, and fate.
Mythos is a single web drama and has 2
episodes. My opinion on the show is that it
mainly relies on dialogue which focuses deeply
on the story as a pose to other web dramas
which mainly focus on action such as fight
scenes. The are two episodes of Mythos which
are directly linked. The second episode I
watched was purely a montage of the
characters running away from an incident which
happened in the previous episode, there was
minimal dialogue which conflicted with the
main theme of the show as there was mainly a
soundtrack playing over the top of the episode,
I feel that incorporating this convention was
positive as it added variation within the web
drama.

BLACKBOXTV
BlackBoxTV is an anthology series created
by Tony E. Valenzuela. Each episode is a
mixture of self-contained horror, suspense
or psychological thriller often ending with
an unexpected twist. Influences include:
Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, the Twilight
Zone, Box 13 and more. The series features
an original score by Brandon Roberts.
BlackBoxTV is a single web drama as it only
has one episode. the show incorporates
tension and suspense building conventions
to coincide with the chosen genre of horror
within the episode.

ALL OF MES
After a devastating breakup with his

into the past to reconcile his problems
of the present.
All of Mes has only one episode which
is surprisingly only 9:12 minutes long.
The episode is based mainly around
the main characters reaction to the
breakup of his wife whom he has been
with for such a long time.
