a.) In 563 B.C.E. Prince Siddhartha was born. His mother was
queen Maya.
b.) The prince was given birth to in a garden, legend has it that
after his birth flowers fell on him and his mother
c.) as he grew up he lived in a world of perfect health and beauty
d.) servants would take care of everything that the prince could
need.
2. Significant Events
a.) at age 16 he married and at age 29 they had a son
b.) The prince discovers aging, sickness, and death
c.) the prince became enlightened: finding deep and truth being
free of suffering. He tried to become an ascetic
d.) HE became the Buddha, found enlightenment, and nirvana

b.) He tried to spread Buddhism and is a Buddhist
