    The government of China should not enforce The OneChild Policy because although it benefits the country economically, it is inhuman and demonstrates lack of care for the people of China. The positive economic effects are outweighed by the unfair measures taken to keep this policy in tact, and rightly so.     manypeoplewereholdingherdown(Wen).Thisisoneofmanyhorrificstoriesthatcomefrom
    theunjustOneChildPolicyinChina.
    ThegovernmentofChinashouldnotenforcethe
    OneChildPolicybecausealthoughitbenefitsthecountryeconomically,itisinhumanand
    demonstrateslackofcareforthepeopleofChina.
    ItisnotrighttoenforcetheOneChildpolicybutthebenefitsofthepolicyeconomically
    cannotbeoverlooked.Overthelastthreedecades,China'seconomyhasgrownatan
    extraordinaryrate.TheChineseeconomyhasgrownatarateoftenpercentayearinthepast
    threedecades.ThesenumbershavepropelledChinatobecomeoneoftheworldspowerhouses
    inglobaltradeandinthisboostingthewealthoftheirmiddleclass.Thesestatisticsshowthat
    ChinaseconomyduringthespanoftheOneChildPolicyhasgrownexceedinglyandtheprosto
    thepolicymustalsobeseen(Riley).Althoughthesefactsmightsupportthepolicy,the

    inhumanlikeactionsthathelpkeepthispolicyinplacearecruelanddefinitelyboostthe
    negativesoverthepositives.
    Thepositiveeconomiceffectsareoutshinedbytheunfairmeasurestakentokeepthis
    policyintact,andrightfullyso.Chinesepolicewillkilltheunbornbabynomatterhowlongit
    hasbeeninthemothersstomach.SomemotherstrytohidetheirbabiesfromtheChinese
    enforcementbutoftengetcaught.Womenareinspectedregularlyandiftheyarecaughtbeing
    pregnanttheywillhavetoproceedwithforcedabortionsorevensterilizations(Moore).Inorder
    tokeeptheabortionrateslow,contraceptioniswhatmostwomenareforcedtouse.Eighty
    percentofwomenconductedinalargestudyinChinasaidthattheydidnothaveachoice,and
    thatthecontraceptionmethodusedwasenforcedonthemwithoutasayinwhichonetheywere
    using(Hesketh).TheOneChildPolicyhaspreventedover400millionbirthssincebeing
    enforcedintheearly1970s(Park).Thesefactsarehorrifyingandshowwhythispolicymust
    cometoanend.Solutionsarebeingenforcedandmoreareneededtoresolvethisissue.
    TherehavebeennecessarytermsaddedtotheOneChildPolicyrecently.In2013,the
    NationalPeoplesCongressstatedaresolutiontothepolicy.IntheirnewpolicypeopleofChina
    areallowedtohaveasecondbabyiftheythemselvesareanonlychild.Thissolutionhelpsin
    manywaysbecauseduetotheamountofsecondbabieswhoweremalethatwereallowedtobe
    keptbeforethenewpolicywasevenstated,thereisanewproblemthathastodealwithleftover
    men.Leftovermenarethe24millionmenthatwillnotbeabletohaveawifebecauseofthe
    drasticgenderimbalanceinChina.ThenewTwoChildPolicywillhelpwiththisproblem
    becauseitwillnotmatterwhetherthesecondchildisaboyorgirltodecidewhetherornotitwill

    bekept(China).Thispolicywasalsoneededbecauseinthe1970safterinstatingthepolicy
    Chinaexperiencedarapidfertilitydropthatcannotbecomparedtoanyotherfertilitydrop
    throughouttime(Bongaarts).ThisnewTwoChildPolicyhelpssooththehatersoftheOneChild
    Policybutinreality,itstillisntenough.Moremustbedonebeforethisproblemcanbeputtoan
    end.
    TheOneChildpolicyisacrueluseofpowerthattheChinesegovernmentmustputtoan
    end,nomattertheeconomicadvancesthatarebeingmade.Althoughitdoesnotseemtobe
    realisticthattheOneChildPolicywillcometoanend,thefuturelooksbrightfortheproper
    enhancementstobemadetothepolicy.WiththeTwoChildPolicynowbeingputintoplaceit
    showsthatmoreopenmindednessisbeingshowntowardsthepolicyandthatthepeoplein
    Chinashouldhavehopefortheendofthisunjustpolicy.
