Source A Abstract
The article is just an overview of the history of the American governments space
agency, NASA. It goes into complete detail, starting from its creation in 1958. NASA
was created during the cold war, in which, the space race was in full effect. The
Soviet Union launched Sputnik, and with it, raised the fear in American hearts, with
the Russians having the upper hand. Its roots came from the department of
Defense, in response to this sputnik launch. Nasas first big launch involving
humans, was Project Mercury, to see if we could survive in space. Then came
Gemini, which allowed two astronauts, perfected docking and reentry. After Gemini
came Apollo, one of the most famous missions. It landed humans on the moon. This
is what won us the space race. This article goes through everything that has gone
through NASA, from its creation to 2011.

Source B Abstract
Written by Jerry DeGroot, a British scientist, this article is biased against NASA and
its space programs. The article goes in depth as to why NASA lost most of its
funding, and is tumbling down the slope into non-existence. DeGroot mentions that
NASA is stuck in the 60s while the rest of the world is in the here-and-now. He
refers to the incredibly expensive, and meaningless programs and projects that
NASA has started, while maintaining the fact that America doesnt need space.
DeGroot criticizes Obama, in saying that he changes his mind too often, when it
comes to space, and that it is very 60s logic. He goes on to quote President
Eisenhower, summarily saying that every rocket fired, is less food for a starving
people.

Written by Rick Docksai, a futurist, that thinks that the moon is necessary in order
for us to thrive as a people. Docksai states all of the possibilities of space, are only
made possible after we reconsider the moon as not only a friend, but a new source
of economy. The moon could possibly be yielding new, more sustainable energy,
and also have massive helium and titanium power reserves. America needs to rejoin the world in its expansion to the moon. According to Docksai, "The United
States is ostracizing itself from its international partners, because its international
partners all want to go to the Moon."
