During my time as a student at Brigham Young University, I have had the opportunity to take a
course called NDFS 191 that explores the careers offered in Food Science. This has allowed me
to hear from guest speakers every week in the food science industry. I have grasped a wealth of
needed knowledge, including: regulations, standards, and processes that are commonly used in
the industry. Through the additional research and study Ive done, I am confident that I would be
successful in the position you are seeking to fill.
For the past year, I have been working with custodial in the Life Sciences Building at BYU. This
job has given me experience in learning how to operate new machinery. I was responsible for
cleaning our universitys research labs and have gained exposure to the lab equipment used. As
the lead student of my crew, I have had experience in supervising other students and working as
a team. All of these opportunities have taught me skills that are essential to the position you are
looking to fill.
