Review
In this exercise you will practice:
Opening a saved document
Using Copy and Paste commands
Changing Font and Font Size

Centering and right aligning text


Making text Bold, Italic and
Underlined
Using Save As and Save

1. Open FormattingReview, it
should be saved in the My
Documents folder. Doubleclick the document to open it.
2. On the Ribbon, click the File
tab to open the Backstage
View.
3. On the left side of the window
click Save As. A box will
appear.
4. Change the name of the
document to
BasicFormatting
5. Save the document to your flash
drive or to the My Documents
folder. Use the Save in
dropdown menu at the top of the
box or the icons on the left side
of the box to choose where you
want to save the file.
6. Follow the directions on the
screen. For example, highlight
the first line and make it bold.
Highlight the second line and
underline it.
7. Your document should look like
this when you are finished.
8. When you finish, click the File
tab to open the Backstage
View, and on the left side of the
window click Save. When you

click Save, your document will be saved with the same name you chose at the
beginning of the lesson and to the same place you chose at the beginning of the
lesson.
9. Click the X in the top right corner of the window to close Microsoft Word, and then
find the icon for your saved document.
