POLICIES

MY CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
1. Students to be respectful. Treat others as you want to be treated.
2. Students to be responsible. Be ready to learn everyday by coming prepared.
3. Students to be safe. Do not push/shove or poke your peers, no running, no hitting, no
sharing foods (allergies)
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES:
1. To be successful in the classroom, I will need all students attention. I will use a chime
to call the students attention in the classroom and I will raise my hand if we are outside
the classroom. These will signify that I need to students to stop and look at me for further
instructions.
2. Students getting my attention. Students will need to raise their hand and wait until I
acknowledge them to ask questions or make comments. If they need to use the bathroom,
they will need to raise their hand and hold 2 fingers; to sharpen their pencil, they will
need to raise their hand and hold 1 finger; to get up and get a tissue, they will need to
raise their hand and point their nose.
3. Restroom and/or water breaks: Students will be provided with 5 passes each quarter. I
will initial the pass and upon return the student will turn it in. Students will need to use
them wisely.
4. They will line up outside the classroom and keep an arms length in between them.
Students will be required to keep their hands to themselves. They will enter the
classroom in an orderly fashion. Students will enter the classroom and wait by their
assigned seats until all students are in before then can seat down. To dismiss for recess or
lunch, students will exit the classroom row by row.
5. Students will read announcements (quietly) on the white board & write the quote of
the day in their journal. I will use this time to take and submit attendance.
RULES:
1. Students must listen to instructions and follow directions.
2. Students must raise their hand to speak or ask a question to teacher.
3. Students must remain in assigned seat and keep hands, feet, to themselves, no poking, and no
tripping others.

4. Students must use polite language, no swearing/profanity.


5. Students must come to class prepared.
CONSEQUENCES:
1st time a verbal warning
2nd time 5 minutes of missed recess
3rd time 10 minutes of missed recess
4th time all recess missed
5th time detention/conference teacher/student
6th time call home
7th time conference parent/teacher
8th time referral to principals office

REWARDS:
Students with no infractions will be recognized at the end of each month and receive a certificate
of recognition and can be helper of the week by helping at the library, front office, or classroom for 30
minutes a day.
The classroom will also earn points towards a class reward such as field trips to middle school
and have lunch with 6th graders, community college for the day, or watch an approved educational movie
on a Friday afternoon.
GRADING SCALE: Progress reports can be requested via PowerSchool (district student information
system) on a weekly basis. (For username and password, please contact district IT department (520- 3642447 ext. 7592) All assignments (tests/quizzes and homework) will be graded using the following
grading scale. There will be a test at the end of each lesson.

MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENTS:
It is the students responsibility to come to me for make-up assignments after an excused
absences. Students will have the same number of days absent to make-up assignments. (Johnny
or Sue are excused absent for two days. They will have two days to turn in their assignments)
Make-up tests can be taken before or after school. It is the students responsibility to set up a
time for make-up tests.
