Tourism in Ecuador
Tourism is an important thing in our world. Tourism let us know the
different cultures that are spread around the world and how the different
cultures has spread around the world by changing its people ideology. In
Ecuador, tourism is becoming major now that the price of the oil is going
down and we need to depend on something else for Ecuadors economy to
be our next big income such as oil in the old fashioned passed. We need to
see how remodeling things like the new ferrocarril that starts in Riobamba
has increased the economy of such wonderful city, how the tourism of
Ecuador has increased, to how there are places in Ecuador that they can live
without tourism and handle them self by just selling cheese to the world.
According to elciudadano.gob.ec Ecuador at the end of 2014, has
increased its tourism to a 14% since 2012. Also el ciudadano says that
according to yahoo travel they did a research and Ecuador ended up in the
top 10 countrys that increased its tourism around the world. What does this
means? Ecuador is focusing on tourism in its principal income now that the
oil is going down. The ministry of tourism with Sandra Naranjo are trying to
get people around the world to hear the name of Ecuador so they can come
and enjoy the great country we live on. Also according to Ecuadorinmediato
they said that now all you need is Ecuador campaign is started to spread the
name. Recently they recorded 67000 persons enter to Ecuador just because
the All you need is Ecuador campaign. Ecuador is planning to finish this year
with 1.5 million of tourist enter the country according to elciudadano.gob.ec
to cover up the 17% of expenses they lost with the oil. That a huge growth
on tourism.
Riobamba was a very nice place because they had the majestic
Chimborazo. Now with the train, the income of Chimborazo has increase by
32% according to lahora.com.ec. Also, according to the interview I made to
Rosa La Puente, she said that since the train was functioning she saw more

tourist in the zone that she worked on. She said that she didnt know the
exact numbers, but she knew that a change was occurring. Also, when I was
waiting for the ferrobus to come and saw the train leave I just noticed that
the people that were boarding the train were Americans and European
people.
After the ferrobus we took the bus to go to Salinas de Guaranda. I was
amazed when we finally stopped and took a look to this amazing Village
and then I asked to the guide, Can you live with the proper economy
without tourism. He said that absolutely. That the economy in Salinas de
Guaranda works from the microcompanys they export through all the
Ecuador and some parts of the worlds. Tourism in Salinas de Guaranda is a
small thing that helps to their own economy (but just a very few amount) the
money that is left they give it to the communities they have in Salinas de
Guaranda.
So in conclusion we can see that in the big cities in Ecuador, like
Riobamba they lived based in tourism and the little villages such as Salinas
de Guaranda live because the things they produce they keep to themselves
or share it between them. I think if we realize its all about the money the
bigger the city the more tourism they will have the smaller and poorer the
city/ village/ town they will always depend on something that they produce.
