1. People need to help accountable for their actions. (James)
At end of semester, students cant turn in any assignments past last
day.
Students needed to communicate to me by email before class if
they need to be absent, leave early, take a phone during class, or
be late to class. (Greene)
There will be a grading system using Pass and Not Yet. Students
to pass need to do the assignments, projects, and attendance.
Student attendance will be graded on whether they do the activity
at the beginning of class and fill out a piece of paper with their
name on it.
2. Punishments are only to be used to correct the behavior.
Students that are continually show negative behavior in class and
wont stop. They will be taken out of class by the teacher. There
they will confront what the bad behavior is. The teacher will also
help the student figure out a plan to correct the negative behavior.
If a student is not willing to change or make a compromise then the
teacher will expel them from the class until the student is willing to
change.
3. Dont reinforce bad behavior or choices. (Rousseau)
The teacher wont send a student out to the office if it wont correct
the behavior.
4. Use positive reinforcement.
When a students shows improvement in behavior in class the
teacher will communicate it to them verbally or in private the good
effort they are making.

All students will have a fair chance to correct any mistakes on an
assignment, project or homework.
Students are allowed to discuss with the teacher how to improve
their progress.
Students can change easier by knowing that the teacher expects

Everyone is learning
1. Distractions prevent learning

Student shouldnt be talking when teacher is talking.


Students focus on the teacher when they talk.
The teacher gives time for students to write notes.

2. Teach people not lessons. (Pestalozzi)

If students dont understand a specific fundamental, take the time


to reteach it. Never teach a lot at once. (Comenius)
Explain to students fundamentals in multiple ways of what it is and
how it works if progress is slow. (Erasmus)
The teacher wont teach a lesson to just get through the required
material.

3. The educated people should contribute to society. (Washington)

Student will be involved with helping the community by running a


food and clothing drive.
Student will have presentation from people in the community to
explain their carrier.

4. Everyone learns differently.

Students will go online to NCSU and edplanner.com to do learning


style inventories and discover what their learning style is.
The students will write a simple report to the teacher of how they
learn after finding their learning style on the two websites.
Teacher wont force the students to use a specific learning style.
Instead group different students will the same learning style to help
each other. (PL 94-142)
Students will be able to do group presentations explaining to the
class math fundamentals in the form of; PowerPoint, video, pictures,
and drawings.
Students wont by using text books.
Students will learn to rely on their minds by not fill in the blank
worksheets

5. Theres always something to learn from anothers view. (Plato)

Students are encouraged to express their opinions on a class


subject by being put into small groups and each student explains
their opinion. (Brown)

Each week the class will watch a short film discuss the difference of
opinions of the characters.

6. Student need a personal connection to learning (Pestalozzi)


Students will see their knowledge in action by doing hands on
projects. One project is to start a group business inside the school.
Students will hopefully see the importance of their knowledge when
they make their business better. (Addams)
Teacher will help the students see in their life how a subject has
personal connection to them. Ex. Biology/Chemistry, when
students drink caffeine it is inhibiting the reuptake of melatonin
sleep chemical. (Dewey)

7. Learning is a privilege (Antin)


Help students develop appreciation for their education by
comparing schools from less fortunate countries. Compare the
commodities, transportation, food, bathrooms, costs, and
curriculum.

The teacher will treat students as equals. This will be done by
talking to them as an adult and to listen to them.
Be patient with each student when their talking.

Preparation (Nation at Risk)


1. Being prepared enhances learning.
The teacher will have a website that has the class section. There
the teacher will have the available resources for his students.
Students need to be prepared when coming into class each day by
going on the teachers website and look at what is provided to read,
watch, or listen for the next day.
Students will need to complete a preparation package before each
week. This preparation package will use multimedia resources. Here
the student will go over the main ideas or problems that will be
discussed in class and will have the students express their opinions
about it by email. This will also encourage media exposure for
students. (Wolk)
Students will email the teacher regularly any questions or concerns
that they may have about anything. This will help the teacher to
prepare for class.

Critical Thinking (Aquinas)


1. Questions stimulate inner capacity. (Ravitch)
Students can ask any question in class and the class will discuss it.

The teacher wont answer the questions fully but will encourage the
students to go out and find the answer for themselves and report to
the class what they found. (Greene)
The teacher will record questions to follow up on students that were
assigned to find the answers.
2. Develop the inner capacity. (Plato)
Giving out answers immediately wont encourage the students to
think about the question. The teacher will have students get into
groups and try to answer a question. The students will submit their
answer but if its wrong the teacher will have them try again to get
the answer right.
The teacher will question or inquire the students opinions to help
the student to think more in-depth of what they think. (Plato)
3. Its okay to disagree with someone.
The class will discuss about the correct way to disagree. This will be
done by explaining how the students would want to be treated in
the situation.(Cardinal Principles).
Students will role play in groups disagreeing about non-sensitive
topics at first. Then we students will role play on more sensitivity
subjects.
4. Critical thinking is fostered by using a frame work. (Bednar)
Students will learn the Scientific approach by doing a class project
together that applies each step. We will create a question and then
take the question through the step. (1.explore discovers

Then at the end the class would have created a theory. (Science

Students will get into groups create a question, study it, apply it
and process it through the scientific approach. Then they will
present their findings to the class once they are done. (Bednar)

1. Creativity needs to be unrestricted (Perry)
Students can do anything for that is related to the topic for weekly
write ups.
Students wont be confined when using creativity in writing,
creating, or presenting in class.
Student assignment wont be graded on the rules but on the quality
of thought put into it. (Perry)

Students will make their own class experiments using their own
original ideas.
Teacher wont discourage students from doing what they are
interested in doing such as music, sports, art, and dance
