As requested, this report outlines recent investments in upgrading
the town centre, examining information gathered from the observations made at its progress and assessing its effect on the lives of local people. The first improvement to be made was a building of a new shopping centre, which, despite its recent opening, is already a resounding success among citizens, with thousands of them doing shopping here everyday. It is felt, therefore, that although the outlay for the centre is relatively high, the future financial benefits are considerable. Pedestrianing the town centre streets is another improvement made with the help of the bank, whose financial support was required. This has certainly provided security for pedestrians, leading them to be more detented and relaxed when walking in the city and crossing the streets. However, it is generally felt that this had a huge impact on the populace, even on drivers, significantly decreasing the number of car accidents in the last few weeks. Last but not least, permission has been grated by the local town council to improve transport links from outlying areas. Not only that the screeching midday traffic in the city centre has decreased, but it was also beneficial for those living on the outskirts, who have now more access to the less populated areas of the city. I feel certain that the course of action stated above has likely met with success and answered the needs of the society. Thus, the only conclusion to be drawn from these facts is that the local town council has made a totally fair decision which contributed to the welfare of the citizens.
