    Israel'slandareaispreservedwithinnaturereserves,mostofwhicharelocatedinthe
    southerndesertregionoftheNegevandArava.OnlythreepercentoftheMediterranean

    bothgovernmentalandnongovernmentalarealsotakingpartinmovingtowardsthe
    formingandimplementingofIsraelsNationalstrategyforbiodiversityconservation.
    FortunatelyIsraelalreadyhasthenecessarylegalframeworkinplacetoprotecttheir
    biodiversity.
    Despitethecurrentissues,Israelremainscommittedtoprotecttheirnatural
    resources.Togetherwithenvironmentalimpactassessmentregulation,theselawsand
    masterplansconstitutethebasesofapreventivepolicywhosegoalistoanticipateand
    preventfuturelanduseanddevelopmentactivitiesthatthreatentoharmIsrael's
