Assessment Technology

Part 1: Assessment Technology

The assessment technology that I
I will assessing is knowing and applying third grade phonics and word analysis skills and
working on decoding words and making them correct. I will be giving my students 12
vocabulary words to figure out and knowing the prefixes and the derivational of the suffixes and
this will be a formative assessment of what they know and how they are understand the phonics.

Assessment Technology
Student Assessment Technology
Formative and Summative Assessments are an integral parts of information that is being
gathered to teach students in the classroom. When you get to depend on one or the other then the
realism sets in and it can be unclear to the students and their endeavors or achievements in class.
Formative Assessment is part of a teaching or instructional process and when it is in done in the
class it is making adjustments in the process of teaching and learning while it is being done in the
classroom at that the time. When it comes to formative assessments it is making sure that
children are achieving and their needs are being met, and making sure that standards are being
met at a certain time. Summative Assessment is something that is in a particular point of the time
that sometimes students know and then at times they dont know what is being done in class. In
teaching the students what is going on with summative assessment you can give a of course and
other test to see where the students stand and what their strengths and weakness are. When it

Assessment Technology

comes to formative and summative assessment it is all about the educator gathering information
or data about what a child is learning and for them to understand the childs learning skills they
have to consider the information about tools use and products as paper testing, observing and
their communication and interaction with the teacher and other children, at the end of both
assessments the students should be able to tell you everything that they learned and also show
you with writing a paper or doing a project.
Technology to Facilitate Ongoing Efforts to Assess Student Learning
From the beginning of time we were destined to facilitate technology for an online effort
to assess learning with students and technology is being used to be a success in our classrooms
and to closely bring a new reform to the learning and the creativity of learning and to bring a
sense of our children can engage in all of this technology and learn and fun with all of the
creative reading, math, social studies, and language arts games and get meaning of the lesson
quicker with hand on and technology.
(Kahoot :) This Formative Assessment software tool is used as a game based
classroom response device. I will use this in my classroom to create different math quizzes
and reading and a lot of my lessons to access the learning internet tools for my students to
their work by having an engaging fun time and learning at the same time.
(Lino :) This Formative tool software is used and it is virtual corkboard sticky notes for students
will provide a question or a comment on what they are getting out of the class in learning. I want
to use this in my class for my students to let me know that what Im teaching them is it helping
them achieve in their academic goals and is it improving their strengths and weakness.
(Ask3) This is a software app that is used with IPads and is going to allow the
students in the class and the teachers to interact and communicate in the classroom. In

Assessment Technology

incorporating this tool in my classroom, I will collaborate on lessons and outside of the
classroom and I will post different questions up of lessons Im teaching in reading, math,
language arts and social studies in a specific classroom setup and the software app as well
and the students will be able to express what they are thinking and their answers to the
assignments and other knowledge they can think of on the whiteboard that is used in the
class.
Formative and Summative Assessments
Assessments are a variety of procedures which are collected with information about
learning and also gaining instruction. Formative assessment is an assessment in
learning in which the teacher is monitoring the students reaction or response to the
process of what is being taught to them with instruction. Summative assessment is
helping to determine what goals are being met with the learning and the
understanding of the work. Both of these assessments help in different ways of a
better way of learning and having bigger goals with education. When formative and
summative are being used in conjunction with a summative assessment there is
going to be potential to improve all endeavors for all children in the classroom

Pros and Cons of using Technology to Facilitate Assessment

There are a lot of benefits and a lot of detriments in using technology to assess when it
comes to student learning. The teacher may want to have a conference with student if they
are not passing a class and talk to them through a form of technology that is contacting the
student and help them out. The pros of using technology to facilitate the ongoing efforts to
access students achievement is the student can get in touch with the teacher and the teacher

Assessment Technology

can get in touch with the student through email, or remind 101 or etc. through technology
so everyone can stay in the loop. The cons are that the information that the teachers can be
shown to everyone if they you dont have a privacy setting on the device so everyone cant
see what is being discussed between you and the students. Another pro is that the teacher
can show their children how they are improving or what they grades and assignments are
through a printout. A con is the technology that an educator is working on can get a bug or
a virus and lose all the information of their lessons and other things that the students have
been working on.

Conclusion
In assessing technology there are a lot of pieces that can help teachers teach their
students with tablets, television and computers and also audio devices and technology can
change the world forever. Technology is making learning more creative and engaging and it
keeps the students in on task because you are teaching them something that caught their
interest and helps them achieve academically.
