Central Focus: Compare and contrast the Continental army and British
army during American Revolution

Daily Lesson Objective: After watching the video and filling out the comparing and contrasting chart about the
Continental army and the British army, students will complete the worksheet given to them and will need to answer all the
questions that contain what we learned about today to achieve mastery.

familiar with a compare and contrast map.

Have one student pass out the worksheets and have them complete the
worksheet up to the point that we covered in todays lesson. Make sure they
do not go past the intended stopping point and make sure they use their book.
If students are confused, do one of the fill in sentences on the worksheet for
them so they can understand how to do it. Students should do this individually
and should not be any talking. Once students are done with the two sections

on the worksheet then teacher explains what to do with the blank piece of
paper that they had to get out before we began the lesson. Teacher will explain
to the students that they need to write one thing they learned about the
Continental army and one thing they learned about the British army on paper
and they will be their exit ticket given to me.

Summative: Collect students worksheets and determine mastery with the following criteria:
Completed worksheet to the material we covered in todays lesson with 70%
accuracy
Followed directions
Have students turn to a partner and tell each other one thing they remember
about the Continental Army and one thing they remember about the British
Army.

Ask: What did we learn about the American Revolution today?
Have them turn in their exit ticket to me after they finish telling their partner
what they learned.
14/19 students achieved mastery for this assignment and the other 5 students received either
partial or no mastery. Clinical teacher had students that didnt get done finish up at recess.
