describethemincludinganyemotionsthecolorsevoke.Studentswillthenlistento
aseriesofsoundsandchooseacolorthatbestmatcheseachsound.Theywillalso
makeaconnectionbetweenthesoundsandthecolorsinthepainting.

downsomeofthesedescriptivewords.Iftheyarehavingtroublecomingupwith

Thechildrenwillsitaroundalargetablethatissetupwithsmallsquaresofwhite
paper,thejarsofmixedpaint(allofthecolorstogether)andpaintbrushes.Iwill
playasound(fromthesameseries)andthenaskthechildrentopickthecolor/sthat
thesoundmakesthemwanttopaintwith.Iwillthenencouragethemtopaintone
squarewiththesechosencolors.Wewillrepeatthisthreetimeswiththree
contrastingsounds;onequietandgentle,oneloudandharsh,andonesomewherein
between.

CreateaFollowUpActivity:
Iwillgivethechildrenalargesheetofwhitepaperandplayanentiresongwhile
theypaint.Iwillguidethembyfirstaskingwhatcolorsthesongmakesthemwant
touse,thenallowthemtofreelypaintwhilethesongplays.Wewillrepeatthis
exercisewiththreecontrastingsongs.
