My Thoughts on

Education
By
Andrea Oberlander

My educational experience as a child will NOT be

the same for my children.
My educational experience:
-Computers were not easily available
-Images presented were with actual photographs
-Research from books/encyclopedias

The current educational experience:

-Computers are everywhere!

-Images are all digital
-Siri, Google, Search engines, etc.

Cell Phones & iPads in the

Dance studio can be
positive!
Cell phone cameras (and
iPad cameras) can assist
in video taping sections
of dances to aid in
memorization and
correction.
Unique dance apps like
SayBallet & SayJazz
provide a digital dance
dictionary including
video demonstrations of
each movement.

Pearls of Wisdom from

John Dewey
If we teach todays
students as we taught
yesterdays, we rob them
of tomorrow.
The goal of education is to
enable individuals to continue
their education.
My favorite

Art is the most

effective mode of
communications that
exists.

My personal learning goal

is to learn more about
Digital Dance Literacy!

ng skills in music and sound design, video editing & camera techniques, dance prod

My hope is to become a teacher who

can equip my students for the future
jobs that have not been created yet.
