Procedures:
1. Lesson Introduction / Anticipatory Set:
Class will begin with a quick prayer and attendance being taken. The teacher will
introduce the lesson by talking about the importance of reflection as a choreographer.
2. Direct Instruction:
The teacher will explain the lesson that the students will be blogging about their
choreographic experience. Some questions to answer while blogging are: How was the
process of working with a partner? What were the challenges you encountered while
choreographing? What felt natural and easy for you while you choreographed? What
would you do differently next time you choreograph? What did you feel while you were
dancing your piece? What did you most enjoy about choreographing? etc. Students will
post their blog to the Schoology dance page.
3. Student Interaction with lesson content / Guided Practice:
While students are working on their blog the teacher will meet with each duet to give
them their scores of their project and go over specifics with them of what worked and
what did not work in their piece. A copy of the rubric will be handed to the students for
reference.
4. Independent Practice:
Independent practice is occurring while the lesson is happening, allowing students to
work independently while the teacher walks around to meet with each separate duet. If
the students are needing to spend more time blogging they will need to do so outside of
class time.
5. Review / Closure:
The teacher will end the lesson with a conclusion on their thoughts of choreography and
the elements of choreography.
6. Presentations:
There are no student presentations in this lesson.
