Choral Reading
How to use choral reading?
1. Choose a book or passage that works well
for reading aloud as a group.
2. Provide each pupils a copy of the text so
they may follow along.
3. Read the passage or story aloud and model
the fluent reading for the pupils.
4. Ask the pupils to use a marker or finger to
follow along with the text as they read.
5. Reread the passage and have all the pupils
in the group read the story aloud in unison.

Chain Reading

How to use reading chain?
1. Choose one favourite story.
2. Teacher writes each sentences from a
favourite story on paper slips and number each.
3. Teacher places the paper slips in a container.
4. Have each pupils choose a sentence from
the container.
5. Teacher asks pupils to read his or her
sentence silently and orally several times.

6. Teacher asks pupil with sentence number


one to read his or her sentence aloud. Then,
the pupil with sentence number two read
immediately after.
7.Continue the reading chain until everyone has
read.
8. Teacher invites pupils to read the stoy until it
becomes fluent.
