TECH-PACK REFLECTION

The tech-pack is a framework that builds on Shulmans theory. In 1986, Shulman says
pedagogy and content knowledge much be considered together.it is a way to measure how
teachers have an understanding of educational technologies to have effective teaching with
technology. (Koehler, M. J., & Mishra, P). (2009) In 2000, Hughes added technology to form the
TPCK which stands for technological pedagogical content knowledge. Then in 2006 Mishra and
Koehler articulate the interdependence of content, pedagogy, and technology knowledge. In
2007, they changed the name of the TPCK to TPACK. Thompson and Mishra says that it better
represents the interdependence of the three knowledge domains and represents the total
PACKage of teacher knowledge required for technology integration. Recently in 2012, the
TPACK became the Tech-Pack as Roblyer and Doering emphasize the critical contribution of
technology to teaching. According to Figure 2.9 in the textbook, if you have content knowledge
and technological knowledge than you have the TPCK. If you have technological knowledge and
pedagogical knowledge then you have the TPK. When you have pedagogical knowledge and
content knowledge, then you have the PCK. If you have all three of those together then you have
the Tech-Pack.
My growth goals for technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge would be, to be able
to integrate technology accurately into my lesson plans. I will like to learn all of the educational
pedagogy and content knowledge. I would like to learn all of the educational pedagogy and
content knowledge so I can make accustomed lesson plans that are resourceful to my students.
My professional goals relate to the PEU standards and the NETs standards. When I am
creating a lesson plan, I will have to be diverse in making the lessons. I have to incorporate
technology lessons that everyone in the class can do. I have to be diverse. I know I will have to

have interpersonal communications. I will always have to meet up with other people. Technology
is advancing very fast in the times we are in now, and I will have to continuously learn and adapt
to the changes being made. I will also have to be able to effectively teach my students the
technology that I have learned, and also find ways to access that they know how to do the
activities that I have put before them. I will also have to keep up with the content and
pedagogical knowledge, and the technology softwares such as the smart boards, or the advanced
technology that may come after that. When I make lesson plans I have to be creative and
innovative in ways to incorporate technology. I will have to communicate and create a cultural
understanding and global awareness by engaging with learners of other cultures. I will have to
also gather information from multiple sources and compare and analyze them. When being a
teacher and making lesson plans with technology, I will have to be a critical thinker. I will have
to use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, solve problems, and make informed
decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources. (ISTE Standards, 2014)
