Professional Development Plan


At the conclusion of the doctoral program you will demonstrate achievement of the program
outcomes. The professional learning plan is your tool to keep you on track towards this goal. It
is a dynamic document and meant to be reviewed and changed as you progress. The document
should be kept in your e-folio.

the program outcomes (listed on the first page). Use SMART (specific, measurable, attainable,
realistic and timely) goal strategies to create 1 - 2 short-term goals (to be accomplished within
the next six month) and 1 2 longer term goals. All goals should support attainment of specific
program outcomes.

PLAN
Steps (or actions) that need to be taken to reach the goal make up the plan. Each goal should
have an action plan with a timeline and performance indicators to assess whether or not the
goal was met. Copy table as needed.

Examine progress for each goal. Replace completed goals with new goals. Adjust
