Plan for the concept, topic, or skill Not for the class
period
Name:
Topic:
Standards:
G-CO.12 Make formal geometric constructions with a
variety of tools and methods
G-SRT.5 Use congruence and similarity criteria for
triangles to solve problems and to prove relationships in
geometric figures.
Students will be able to:
1. construct concurrency of triangles
2. correctly identify the point of concurrency for each
concurrency
3. know the basic characteristics of each pt of concurrency
4. calculate line segments, perimeter, circumference,
perimeter, area, and angles using those characteristics and
basic knowledge of previous lessons
Lesson Instruction
Learning Activity 1
Students will construct the various concurrency of triangle using the steps
provided. (students will only be provided rulers, no protractor)
Assessment Prompt for LA 1
Students will identify what point of concurrency will be created given only
one line (instead of 3)
Learning Activity 2
Students will identify the different characteristics produced by
circumcenter, incenter, centroid, altitude, and midsegment. Then students
will use those characteristics to solve line segments, angles, and
perimeter of triangle, circumference, and area of circle.
Assessment Prompt for LA 2
Students will identify what concurrency of triangle is given and calculate
the segments, angles, perimeter, circumference, and area.
Graphic Organizer
Table indicating things to
remember for each
concurrency.
Chart comparing and
contrasting the 4
concurrency of triangles.
Assignment
1. Read your notes on
Summarizing Strategy
Write 3 ways you can solve a line segment in a triangle.
Identify 2 major differences among the perpendicular bisector, angle bisector,
median, altitude, and midsegment and then explain why you consider them as
major differences. (share this in the Edmodo account assigned to your class)
Identify 1 thing you will always remember in this unit (describe it in 1-2 sentences
and then share this in the Edmodo account assigned to your class)
Group Output (to be submitted Monday next week):
In your group (members are assigned by the teacher), create a 1- page comic strip where two or more
characters talk about concurrency of triangles. You do not need to draw beautiful characters; oblongs,
circles, and triangles will be enough as long as it is neatly presented.
Then take a picture of your work using your phone or tablet and send to my school email address as an
attachment. Please navigate the schools website and then find my name in the meet/contact the staff
