Our Students
The students who live within
Cimarrons boundaries hail from
many different backgrounds. The
population is 87% Hispanic, 9%
white. The remaining 4% is made
up of an African American and
American Indian heritage.
Regardless of their ethnicity our
students love their school! The
teachers on the campus are
teaching generations within the
same families.

Cimarron is a pre-k through 5th

grade campus located off of
Uvalde and I-10 in Houston,
Texas. It was built in 1954 and
has remained a pillar in the
community for 60 years.
Cimarron is a highly qualified
campus with 50 certified
teachers, a full time nurse,
librarian, counselor, music
teacher, an art teacher, and two
PE teachers. Five instructional
coaches and two speech teachers
also offer support to the students
on the campus. All classroom
teachers have earned a
bachelors degree and over a
dozen have also earned their
masters degree.

have been able to boast a

rating. Last years STAAR scores
were as follows:
Reading- 74% passing
Math- 74% passing
Writing- 74% passing
Science- 67% passing
The latest district assessment
shows that Cimarron is already
surpassing last years STAAR score.

Cimarrons teachers work hard to

that the students every needs are
