Ways of showing

Love and Compassion

John Rhyl L. Sialmo

Compassion defines
A feeling of wanting to help
someone

Love defines
A feeling of strong or constant
affection for a person

The question is
Is it love that drives compassion or
simply compassion drives love?

First we should have a context

In the context of

Working
Environment

Compassion + Love
= Compassionate
Love

According to Signal Barsade

Compassionate love Is based on
warmth affection and connection
rather than passion.

Why foster compassionate love as

A culture at work?

Employees who feel they worked in

loving, caring culture reported
higher levels of satisfaction and
teamwork. The showed up to work
more often.

How? Do we need to hug each other

person everyday? No

Broader your definition of culture.

Instead of cognitive culture such
as teamwork, results-orientation
and innovation you might think
about how can you cultivate and
enrich emotional culture as well.

Pay attention to emotion youre

expressing to employees every day.
Your mood creates a cultural
blueprint for the group.

Consider how company policies and

practices can foster greater
affection, caring, compassion and
tenderness among members.

Most importantly, though it is the small

moments between co-workers warm
smile, kind note, a sympathetic ear, may
help create and maintain a dtrong
culture of compassionate love and
employees satisfaction, productivity and
client satisfaction that comes with it

There are a lot of specific ways to show

love and compassion. Neither this article
nor experiences of others can attest its
totality, rather it is yourself who can prove
its effective ways. How? You have this
entire day and every day simply let your
co-worker say Im glad we are together

Thank You!
