COMPLETION RULES AND REGULATIONS
ELIGIBILITY:
1. Applicant must be a graduating female high school student entering college or a current
college student continuing her education at an accredited college in the U.S. The scholarship is
being offered to those only pursuing a degree in construction; construction management,
architecture, civil, mechanical, and structural or electrical engineering etc.
2. Applicant must wish to pursue a career in construction; construction management,
Architecture, civil, mechanical, and structural or electrical engineering etc.
3. Student must enroll as a full-time student to receive award.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.

Applicant is responsible for ensuring all items below are submitted to the NAWIC Scholarship
Committee and received no later than April 15,2015
a. Completed, signed application
b. Two written recommendations:
-One submitted from a teacher
-One submitted as a personal recommendation
c. Official transcript of grades
d. An essay
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

AWARDS

1. Scholarships are not renewable

Applications will be reviewed, and the Scholarship Committee of the Greater Rochester, NY
Chapter 314 of NAWIC will select the winners. The committee will consider the applicants
interest in construction, grades, extra-curricular activities, employment experience, and written
recommendations.

3.

Applicants may be required to attend a personal interview with the Scholarship Committee. All
properly completed applications will be acknowledged.

THE ESSAY
Applications must be accompanied by an essay outlining all past accomplishments, achievements
and awards. Applicants should describe their aspirations, and why they feel they qualify to receive
financial assistance. The essay should not be more than one page.
