Hello Fellow Chamber Members,

First off, I want to thank all those who attended our recent Chamber meeting. I was
overwhelmed with your support and enthusiasm. That meeting saw the Chamber discuss and
approve at least eight proposals.
I have e-mailed the Powerpoint Presentation (containing these proposals) to Council and the
deputation is all set to be given on Monday, Jan 19th. Our Chamber is requesting upwards of
$15,000 and this amount, along with membership revenue, has been allocated for changes that
will affect our image, our commitment to commercial improvement, and our recognition of those
who make a positive difference to our community. At this point in time, the funding we are asking
for will allow us to take some initial steps forward. This Chamber wants to ensure that the
Lyndhurst /Seeleys Bay Region will be properly included in the Townships Greater Strategic
Plan.
The Chamber needs to demonstrate to the Township that it is responsible and efficient when
allocating funds for community purposes. Revenue from membership fees as well as the
additional funding from Council will be used to improve our Chamber Website and launch our
Chamber Directory to mention a few. Out of town visitors will soon be able to find who we are
and where we are in a more user friendly manner and this will benefit all of us!
The last Chamber meeting also addressed membership dues. It was concluded that many more
people would pay their dues on time if they were just sent a proper invoice and that many of our
non members would pay for a membership if they were just reminded to do so.
Towards that end the Chamber will e-mail a proper invoice to each commercial establishment
with a proper information form so that we have updated e-mail addresses and names. This will
go out to members and non members. Please advise our Chamber Secretary if you no longer
want to belong to the Chamber, otherwise we will continue to email statements and reminders
that membership fees are due ( $75.00).
Many of us use online banking to pay our bills and I talked to the Bank about the Chamber
being set up as a payable. This can only be done if you bank with TD, however you can pay
your invoice by interac -transfer. The password to the question what is your favorite logo ? The
answer is Chamber
Our Treasurer returns this week so we will bring her up to date on finances and the recent
minutes. Invoices will be emailed soon (some already have been sent) as well as the minutes of
our last meeting.
Ill give you an update of the results of our deputation in the meantime I have attached the
Power Point presentation for you to see
Looking forward to a productive Chamber Year!
