My Personal statement
I have achieved a lot in my life and I am a very talented person. I wanted to
become a biologist because I became interested in nature at a young age. I
watched The Blue Planet and I got fascinated by nature. I learned from
museums, books and magazines that wildlife was in danger such as from
global warming, hunting, pollution, and deforestation that I decided I wanted
to become a biologist so I can collect information that will justify natures
protection. The most important parts in my life that would get me to college
would be my hobbies, my passing of Biology, and my inspiration for
becoming a biologist. I wish to go to a college where I can become a
biologist.
My inspiration in becoming a Biologist started when I was a kid. I used to
watch The Blue Planet and Planet Earth on DVD. They were all nature
documentary series created by the worlds most famous nature documentary
filmmaker; David Attenborough. When I watched those DVDs I was amazed
by all the amazing creatures I never knew about. My favorite episode of
The Blue Planet was The Deep because in that episode, theyve shown
what lives at the bottom of the ocean and the creatures that lived there
fascinated me because they are more strange than the animals that lived in
the surface. They live in the dark, and some of them survive by using
bioluminescence to defend themselves and for luring prey. One example of
these creatures that uses bioluminescence is the anglerfish, it uses a

bioluminescent lure to attract fish and it eats them. Seeing how those
creatures behaved is what inspires me to become a biologist because I want
to see for myself if there are other animals that are as fascinating as the
ones I have seen on The Blue Planet and Planet Earth. It also influenced
me to take biology in high school.
My passing in Biology class will get me to college because I got an A- in
Biology and it will justify and it will justify my worth in joining a college that
teaches Biology. In 11th grade, I took Biology so that I would learn more
about life and that in the future it would help me to become a Biologist.
During biology, I learned that DNA is an important part of Nature because
when an organism survives, it transports the traits that helped it survive its
environment to its young via DNA (deoxyribonucleic-acid) so that its
offspring would have the same DNA as its parents, and thereby have the
same traits as its parents to help it adapt to its environment. In my Biology
POL (Presentation of Learning) I had to make a slideshow showing what I
learned in Biology and I had to pass it in order to pass the class. For my
topic in the POL, I chose ecology because it is the part of Biology I
understood the most. In the subject of ecology, I learned that a Biome is an
ecosystem made of nonliving things made of the nonliving things and all the
different species of plants and animals. The biomes are all in different parts
of the world. Each different type of biome is in a group of different habitats
but at different places of the world, for example, there are deserts in

America, but there are also deserts in Africa, Australia, and Armenia. I
showed every part of Ecology in my Biology POL, and I got an A-. This shows
I have what it takes to go to a college where I can become a biologist. I took
biology because my hobbies involve nature, due to the fact I am interested in
nature.
The next thing that shows my worth in going to college is my hobbies and
interests. During my spare time, I keep myself occupied by doing origami,
and watching Animal Planet shows on Netflix. Origami is one of my biggest
hobbies because I like creativity and it keeps me occupied. I like watching
Animal Planet shows because theres always a chance I may learn
something I didnt know about animals. For example, I learned from a show
called Fatal Attractions that some people keep wild animals such as tigers
and chimpanzees as pets and it is always dangerous because wild animals
are dangerous when they are threatened or disturbed. I also learned from a
show called River Monsters that if a river has healthy living conditions,
such as temperature and food, it will be home to types of big fish such as
giant catfish and freshwater stingrays. I have an after-school class which
teaches Karate. I go there every Wednesday and I practice every day that
isnt Wednesday, so I couldnt forget how to defend myself. I joined karate
because I like peace and I wanted to learn how to protect myself. I enjoy
gardening because it is a part of life an I enjoy watching flowers bloom. I

have planted lilies and strawberry plants in my backyard about 2 years ago
and I water them every day.
I am hoping I will be accepted into college because it will give me the
opportunity to become a biologist. This personal statement best shows my
interest in nature from my own point of view. I like to watch Animal Planet, I
do origami as a quiet activity and I like nature. That is why I deserve to be
accepted.
