Chapter 5 - Unit 4 - Decline of Feudalism

Essential Question: How did events in Europe contribute to the decline of


feudalism and the rise of democratic thought?
Duration of Unit: 9 days

-Lesson 8-Day 8 I will synthesize how political events, disease, and conflict contributed to the decline of
feudalism.
I will synthesize how political events, disease and conflict contributed to the rise of
democratic thought.

-IntroductionJournal Question: Describe an event that has changed the way you live and explain
how that event changed your life.
Use note cards to call on students: students respond with answer, and
teacher will to apply to unit of study.
Tie in to how lives are changing during this time period due to these
declines, humanize history.

Competition, have students answer their peers concerns. If I intervene, I
gain one tally. If they answer peers concern correctly, students gain one tally. If
they win, extra rewards on their quiz.
