All of the Students who joined my survey always use internet for checking managebac,
doing school work, and listening to music which are usually needed for their daily life.
Additionally, most of them use it for checking their SNS, and web surfing. SNS and web
surfing took high percentage of use in internet even though they are not necessary for
their life.

Most of the students who answered my survey use 5 hours or more of social media per one
day. Through this graph, I can expect that many students enjoy social media and overusing
their time for this. Consequently, students are exposed to social media too much, that
they are in danger to have social media problems

2. What can be the best solution of online social problems for my

target audience?
- What are the examples of solutions? (In interview)
Ex 1) If I can give people who has social problem, I will give them an advice to share their problems
with someone who they think are close to them and they can trust.

Ex 2) I want to let people who leaves malicious comments notice and give a hand that they should
think before they post anything on the social media, expecting the reaction of readers. Readers feel
embarrassed and painful by those words that they type, so try to think if the person who caused crime
were a reader and try to understand people who are suffering from social problems.

Ex 3) I will give positive comments to people who were suffered by cyber bullying for them to
overcome with those problems and give advice to quit games and try to find other stuffs that the one
can do instrad of game to people who addicted to game.

Ex 4) Helping people to surmount their fear by taking their side and doing everything to prevent the
cause of the problem will be the best solution for people related to social problems.

Ex 5) well, maybe you can try to talk to that person or talk about the effects. So the person might find
the problem of himself.

Ex 6) Malicious comments- People should know how it would be so dangerous for being one of the
people who leave malicious comments.
Cyber bullying-stop SNS and move school to other places. Ask help to parents or teacer exactly and
search for the reason that you are in cyber bullying.
Game addiction- Stop playing game, have different habit on other stuff. For example, play sports,
cook various food or go to the place that you won't be able to play game (library). Move computers out
to the place where you won't access to it and set exact time for playing game when you are able to
control yourself playing game.

Ex 7) make a time schedule for them so that they know what time they should do what activity
Ex 8) For example people who are facing Cyber Bullying, I would try to help them, by moving on and
being less insecure about themselves.

Summary: The best solution to stop problems of social media is moderating their access to social
media, also reducing the amount of time spent on social media and try to take away their electronic
devices from them. They need social interacting time for sharing their opinion by offline, face to face,
such as having a family conversation time after dinner at living room. They also need a person to
have conversation with like mentor or school coordinators, advisers, and even their parents. In
addition, they require more attention on academic progress.

- What can be the best behavior of people in social media problem? (Interview)
Ria

The only way the people on social media can be changed is if they start thinking
differently. This I think can only be done if they really want to be changed.

Rashi

The best way to change a person's behavior is by getting him in the right track. this is by
telling him to do good and do not post any random comments on the social media which
might hurt some's feelings.

Yujeong

Educate young people that it is bad thing to give bad comments on people not only real
life but also online.

Alma

If parents concentrate on what their kids are doing on social media, maybe which is one
way the problem is going to be solved.

Seri

By decreasing time on the social media. This will affect the people's behaviors by
limiting the use on media, along with decreased amounts of cyber bullying.

Syafiqah

Parents should take a strong discipline towards their children. For the school, maybe we
should stop using laptops and start writing in our books like in the past.

They should have their name online, so people won't say anything toward other people.
And need to notice that they are doing wrong things. The consequence in law of those
online problems should be strengthen than now.

For there to be more awareness, the awareness should be a message the people will
listen to and change their behavior.

The best solution is to try to live and adapt to an environment without electronic devices
and try to enjoy physical activities/sports.

Make them talk to an adviser to improve their thoughts eventually behavior.

Zoya

They should tell an adult if they are being bullied. Then the person who bullied will be
deleted or blocked from social media. Otherwise others will be affected in a negative
way. This way the person will be able to change and they will not have to be a victim for
cyber bullying anymore.

According to my survey, 83% of people that I surveyed answered that they

experienced/done/witnessed social media problems and 17% didnt. Majority of people
have experienced those kind of problems happening around them.

People witnessed and experienced cyber bullying the most, negative comments the
second, and invasion of privacy the third. These are the three top problems happening
frequently in social media world.

Specific examples of social problems (Interview)

Ria

I have witnessed one of my classmates got cyber bullied that someone posted
pictures of him writing rude comments and made memes. At the time he
experienced it, he felt stressful for a long time and his personality has changed
defensively.

Alma

One of my friends was getting bullied in my old school and I helped her go
through. She was so close to killing herself. They bullied her at school, but the
part that my friend felt so shocked was when they threatened her that they are
going to post her family affair and other weaknesses on the SNS.

I witness invasion of privacy very frequently and constantly on an everyday

basis in and outside of school. Many hackers and people who are able to treat
computer well cause those crimes. Because of that, one of the private
information of company was exposed to certain people. Those information made
money and profits for people who hacked the information of company. However,
many workers who worked for that project suffered a loss.

Syafiqah

I know some people in this school that are addicted to games, but sometimes
when I search something on the web, I sometimes see comments that can make
that person offended, usually to famous / popular people.

Yebon

I've experienced cyber bullying. In realities, people were not expressing their
real feelings that they felt toward me. However, in the online world, they were

expressing what they think about me freely. They were making a rumor on me
and I was so embarrassed and incomprehensible of the way that they changed.

My brother is addicted to the game. He plays League of legend which is one of

the online game. He always plays that game when he comes back from home
and even at school. He lays it until the dawn, gave up sleeping.

Inhye

I also witnessed cyber bullying. Popular amongst Korean people (appeared a lot
in news) always bad comments below context about celebrities. There were also
some celebrities who committed suicide because of peoples bad comments.
One of the actress in Korea was in a rumor that many people sent bad
comments to her. Because of that, she committed suicide as she was so
stressful about it.

Zoya

I was once cyber-bullied. It was not nice of that person to insult me and that is
why I felt really bad. I had hard time to overcome with this problem. From that
time, I understood how internet can influence people just by typing few words.

3. How will I express my message?

- What will be the specific type of way for expressing my topic?
- How can I show the message well by this topic to my target audience?

Video I prefer video for your topic. The reason is because video can
express many things inside the film. Background music, images,
special effects and instruction can go in and be shown at once which is
hard to express by making the poster or website. So you will be able to
express your idea well other than poster and website.

Syafiqah

Website There will be many information needed about the product

that you are going to make. In the video and poster, you cannot put
many information that you want compared to website. Website can
have many categories as you want, that you will be able to organize
data and information about influence of social media.

Zoya

Video I hope you to make a video for your product. On YouTube, I saw
many videos about social media which were very stimulating. I guess,
you will be able to make, learn, and express your ideas in your way of
video like those videos on YouTube.

Video I think you should make a video as it will be easier to transmit

your information to your target audience. Also, if you make a video, you
will be able to add different effects with lighting, sound, music, voice
overs, etc. that will have a better impact on the viewer and it will
emphasize your statements better.

Video I think you should make a video because I think it would be the
best way for you to transmit the information to your target audience,
and if you make a video you will be able to make it visually fun to
watch, you can add music, voice overs etc. It would be the best way to
catch the audience eyes.

Video- video will be a good way to show cyber bullying as you can add
images of cyber bullying really happening to the people. You can also
add quotes of cyber bullying which will connect to the audience. You
can add different types of sound effects to make it interesting. You can
add animations so that even the children will be able to understand.

Poster- I think making a poster will be good because you can express
your ideas and opinions in photos and less text.

Video As video shows images and sounds at once, it would be able to

help me to understand the message intended most easily without
requiring any other effort and work as an audience.

Video This is a good method to show the information that you

collated as it would interring for the viewer to watch. There are many
ways that you could show the information gathered, skit, talk to the
viewer and many more. Depending on the age group you could also
make it an animation video as well.
Poster- It allows you to express your thoughts in a more freely way than
a video and it is easier to place/locate materials

Consequently, my target audience wanted video for me to make my product, as they think
thats going to be the easiest way I can express my feeling toward my target audience.
With video, it is able to put many sources such as background music or images. Also,
there are many examples about social media by video on YouTube that I can learn and
improve on.
