Reactions with acids

Acids are a very reactive group of chemicals. The Hydrogen ion will attach itself to any number of species in a solution
and cause reactions.
Metals, bases, carbonate and oxides are groups of chemicals that react with acids in predictable ways. So give off gas
and others produce water, some do both.
