Write 2 paragraphs on scientific method (inquiry)
1st paragraph discuss steps
2nd paragraph what is important in designing an experiment
The steps of scientific inquiry are posing questions, developing a
hypothesis, designing experiments, collecting and interpreting data,
creating conclusions, and communicating results and ideas. The first
step, posing questions, is when you ask questions that can be
answered by making observations and evidence. Then there is creating
a hypothesis. A hypothesis is a prediction on the posing questions for
the experiment. After that there is designing experiments. While
designing experiments you create independent variables and
dependent variables with parameters. This is called a controlled
experiment. Before an experiment scientists record their data, the
facts, figures and evidence. The observations can be qualitative or
quantitative. Qualitative data is notes and qualitative is notes with
measurements and numbers. Then you draw conclusions about the
hypothesis. Conclude about if the hypothesis was correct or not. After
that you communicate the data, ideas, and conclusions.
When designing an experiment the most important factors are
asking the right posing questions, collecting great data and
information, and designing an accurate experiment. Also you need to
communicate the information well. When designing and experiment it
is important to ask the right posing questions to get the most out of
the experiment. The questions get the most data. When getting the
data you need to gather the best information to answer your
hypothesis. Then design a very well planned out experiment so you
can analyze the information and take notes to answer the hypothesis.
At the end it is important to communicate the information to get the
best data.
