Summary
As a teacher, I am passionate about making the learning experience a positive one for all
students. There is so much going on in our education system today that I want to help influence
for the better. A positive school environment is so important to student success and that is one of
my goals as a new teacher. My upbeat, positive attitude can make a difference with students as
well as school staff. Students need a safe, encouraging and comfortable place to learn so that
everyone has an equal chance at furthering their academic career and social skills to prepare
them for the future. A few of my better qualities are patience, flexibility, consistency,
compassion and caring. With all of these and more I will strive to present the course material in
clear, interesting and innovative way, working with each student individually to help them
achieve their academic and future goals.

Accomplishments
As a mother of two and a grandmother of three, I have observed and experienced all stages of a
childs development first-hand. Throughout my childrens schooling I volunteered and roommothered in their classrooms. Helping children gain a passion for learning is not an easy task,
however challenges are my specialty. After earning my Associate Degree in the Arts with an
emphasis on History I enrolled in the iTeach AZ program at Arizona State University. My goal
is a Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education, History by the spring of 2015. My third semester
of experience as an intern at Riverview School in El Mirage, with Alesha McKnight, has been a
very enriching experience. I am looking forward to having my own classroom full of eager
minds soon.
