This I Believe Essay
Prof. Intawiwat

Where do you see yourself now in ten years? Just barely getting
by with spur of the moment tasks completed like high school
procrastination homework? Or do you see yourself being the most
successful person in the profession that you practice almost every
single day? The choice is simply yours, to always be lagging behind in
what you do or to be a leader and set the bar in whatever aspect you
are currently endeavoring. The only way I can give advice to
comprehend in how to be successful is to have consistency.
Consistency is such a vital aspect in any situation you are trying to
achieve. Whether you want to play a professional sport or get that job
promotion that will eventually lead you to CEO of the company. Or
plainly just being a great dad or mom to your kids one day.
A core reason or belief I have that supports the statement
Consistency is the key follows in the next few sentences. There are
many ways and reasons though before I begin elaborating on
consistency that can make you off task or distracted from the project
at hand. You need to make sure you utilize your personal skills and

assets to the best of your ability, only to achieve the greatest success.
One reason why consistency is such key in the grand scheme of things
is how and where it takes you in life. You may ask questions to people
who have achieved a great amount of considered success. Take a
famous athlete like Michael Jordan for example and break down what
made him so great. He would inform you that not only did he work hard
in the game of basketball to get him where he wanted to be; but would
directly repeat to you what he has said in many post-game press
conferences to reporters before. I've missed more than 9000 shots in
my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to
take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and
over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. You see, Michael
wasnt also Mr. Clutch at the end of the day, he started out as an
Average Joe at basketball but had the will and determination to
become great. As he grew older he mixed his ambitious like qualities,
along with his consistency and that is what many believe held his
successful portfolio together. I also am very in favor of characteristics
such as determination and ambition, but I also feel positive qualities
like those come with being consistent. In conclusion, Michael was
trusted with the game winning shot when his team had the ball on the
last possession when they were loosing and missed the shot. Thats
right, Michael Jordan failed at a task he was after. But that definitely
did not stop him from achieving greatness. He would put in extra time

at the gym aside from team workouts and practices. The will to be
consistent plays such a prominent role for what speaks of your
character and what you really desire for in the long run of tasks.
Another reason why consistency is such a key in the long run is
because it creates positive habits. Practicing a role or routine over and
over only subjects your mind and body to make whatever it is youre
after only easier to obtain. A great teaching point for this reasoning of
consistency can relate to your GPA in college. Take for example you are
enrolled at a two-year community college to take basic general
education courses to transfer into a four year university, while also not
diving into student loans in the long run. Even though most colleges
and universities accept students from community colleges who take
general education courses, does not mean they automatically are
enrolled once they complete two years at their prior school. They have
to apply as transfer students to the university and get in just like they
did their senior year of high school. So to sum this scenario up, they
have to keep a stellar GPA to be enrolled at the prestigious college of
their choice. Along with that a strong GPA only comes with strong
grades in classes, no way around that. So you ask yourself, what can I
do to make the highest grades possible in community college so I can
be accepted and transfer into my dream school? The answer is not too
hard to obtain. You need great grades on tests, homework
assignments, projects and other weighted assignments. The only, I

repeat only way to do this is to not only pay attention in class but to sit
down and spend time in the books outside of class to actually learn the
material to make the best grade possible in the class. This takes
consistency people, lots and lots of it. But if your study habits are not
too studious and you want to improve them you have to start
somewhere. I mean even the famous people eventually started
somewhere to achieve where they are today. I guarantee if you start
studying class material for thirty minutes every day then take a break
you wont feel like the world is going to end. The next week try
studying for 45 minutes and see how easier that is. Following the next
seven days utilize your study habits for an hour and you will eventually
see how slow and small increments eventually build up in the grand
scheme of things until you reach your goal. This only proves
consistency is the key to success! Not only will you gain great study
habits along the way from being a consistent student but also you will
pick up great positive characteristics. For example, being on time to
class, helping other classmates out if they dont understand objectives,
managing your time throughout they day and other great resume
building-like qualities that makes you overall a better person.
So as you can conclude from the main two points of why I think
consistency will bring you such success, there are many ways you can
keep this constant reminder in tact. When you stumble or fall upon an
objective while trying to achieve success you should get back up and

realize that a short slip-up should not stop you from failure. There are
many more positive outcomes ahead of you than you actually realize.
Also to start in daily baby steps when trying to get a huge task
accomplished. When you break down components of work up in days
or weeks, it will make the overall task seem not so difficult. Breaking
down the workload will build up a wall of consistency that will only
drive your determination in a cluster of success.
