COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this course is to provide the licensed aestitition
and cosmetologist with skin care information to enhance their
practice and knowledge base in regard to client care and
management in a fun, interactive workshop . Topics will include
sanitation, intradermal cosmetics (permanent makeup) and
recognition of skin disorders. Discussion and demonstration.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to
competently:
1. Conduct services in a safe environment taking measures to
prevent the spread of infectious and contagious disease.
2. Discuss the anatomy of the the skin.
3. Define micro pigmentation and permanent cosmetics.
4. Discuss identifying the clients expressed needs and
qualifications for permanent makeup.
5. Discuss client preparation, procedure and aftercare for
permanent makeup.
6. Recognize disorders and when not to perform procedures.
7. Discuss the necessary equipment needed to perform
permanent makeup.
8. Discuss the role of UV radiation in the development of basal
cell, squamous cell, acenic keratosis, and melanoma skin
cancers.
9. Describe the clinical features, treatment and prognosis of
basal cells and squamous cell carcinomas.
10.
Describe the clinical features , treatment and follow-up
care of melanoma.
11.
Discuss effective preventative measures for skin
cancers.
12.
Identify the common places on the body where
seborrheic dermatitis.
13.
Discuss the treatment options for controlling the
symptoms of suborreic dermatitis

Describe how a skin pore becomes plugged.
15.
Describe the risk factors that increase the incidence of
acne.
16.
Compare and contrast the acne treatments available
over the counter and by prescription.
17.
Describe the signs and symptoms of rosacea.
18.
Discuss the triggers that can cause rosacea to flare.
19.
Discuss the prescription regimen normally used for
most rosacea patients.
