INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN AND PRESENTATION


Phase I
Instructional Plan
The training course will be called Developing Leadership Skills in the workplace. The training
leadership skills course will have a targeted audience of social workers in a nonprofit setting.
The course will be ranging from 8 to 10 men and women combined with a participation score of
100% as it will be required to successfully complete the training. The delivery modality will be
face-to-face in a workplace classroom with 6 hours in length. Two goals for the course are as
follows:

Staff members will learn the importance of leadership and how it correlates to working
together as a team for the benefit of the organization.
Specific instruction will be given to the staff members in establishing a clear vision of the
organizations fairness, integrity, communication, ethics, performance and quality.
Participation is highly implemented in order to successfully complete the course.

Phase II
Instructional Plan
Course Training Session: Developing Leadership Skills
At the completion of this training course, staff members will:
1. Staff members will establish leadership skills and understand the importance of
leadership roles in a nonprofit setting.
2. Staff members will implement characteristics of the nonprofit industry and comprehend
the significance of working together as a team.
A- audience- Social Worker employees.
B- behavior- Effective leadership skills.
C- conditions- Face-to-face environment for better teamwork
performance.
D- degree of accomplishment- Leadership roles and the capacity to work
effectively as a team for the benefit of the organization.
The objectives encourage critical thinking skills as it is needed to become an effective leader
within a nonprofit setting. Performance-based objectives are implemented in the training course
as their behavior and participation is measured to determine their comprehension level of
material discussed in the course.
The instructional strategies consist of learning to utilize leadership skills to work together as a
team and comprehending the philosophy of the organization in order to successfully deliver it

during client sessions. The activities consist of participating in group work such as discussions,
collaborations, and critical thinking sessions.
The instructional technologies that will be used in the training session are overhead projectors,
presentation using PowerPoint, audio videos, and links to websites that will enhance their
knowledge.
Phase III
Instructional Plan
Plan for Implementation

This training session will be completed in 6 hours. The frequency of the course will be
every 6 months in order to reinforce leadership skills.
The individuals involved are the facilitator who is the Program Director of the
organization and 8 to 10 staff members who are the Social Workers of the organization.
At the beginning of the training course, the facilitator will provide each participant with a
leadership skills training study guide for them to use for their group work activities. The
materials also consist of overhead projectors, presentation using PowerPoint, audio
videos, and links to websites that will enhance their knowledge.

The details of how this instructional plan will be implemented are as follows:

The instructional plan will be communicated through face-to-face delivery modality


utilizing student-centered approach strategies.
The implementation of group work activities will help to build interest and
commitment. Their participation and interaction level will encourage the exchange of
ideas, knowledge and importance of leadership in the workplace.
The participants will be the Social Workers who are employees in the organization.

The formative assessments of the training course are as follows:


1. Clearly communicate to staff members the learning goal.
2. Provide constructive feedback that is correlated to the learning goal.
3. Provide guidance that will empower staff members to acknowledge their abilities to
succeed.
4. Promote the quality of classroom interaction by motivating staff members to ask
questions and anticipate that they will seek clarity.
5. Demonstrate the correlation among what staff members implement and what they absorb
in the learning process in order to guide them towards self-efficacy.

Phase IV
Instructional Plan
The criteria for determining whether the goals, objectives, and overall outcomes of the training
session will be met are as follows:
Evaluation Strategies
Participant surveys and observation of performance-based attainment will be
conducted to examine instructional plan.
Participant surveys will be conducted at the end of training session completion,
consisting of diverse questions in reference to the overall course experience.
Examination of participant performance-based accomplishment will be directed
during group work activities. Focus is targeted upon participation and
communication.
Outcome Review

A score board from 0 to 4, with 0 indicating the least and 4 indicating the greatest
will be utilized in analyzing instructional design objectives, performance-based
goals, and learning outcomes for attainment.

Recommendations
Based on the outcome review, probable recommendations for future decisions regarding the
efficacy of the training course are:

Incorporation of a rating scale to examine participant performance-based


accomplishment.
Facilitating an effective assessment helps to determine performance factors for
further modification.
