Homeless A Tribute

By Cristina Vera Policarpio de Santiago

All yearn it, but you have none
You yearned it once, now forgone
Pavement and dirt, you embrace
Humanitys face, you show through horror or grace
A homeless man, a noble lot
A refuge he has none, but a refuge for some
I adore you, I will defend you
Homelessness, such a wretched thing
But through It, I weep, grieving
I keep you, I honor
My life, and theirs, we shall keep
Homlessness, such a wretched thing
Us, who have that you keep not, fails you
Pavement and dirt, we gladly offer you
Such a cowardly act of us
A homeless man, but more man than we
Strong, proud, he keeps
Homelessness, such a wretched thing
Such a wretched thing
