WHAT IS A BURKA?

The burka is a garment that covers a woman from head to toe.

It is usually dark blue or black. It has only a small square through
which she can see.
Many Muslim women wear burkas in some parts of the world. It
is a garment of modesty and respect. The Koran recommends that
women cover their bodies to minimize their sexuality. But the Koran
does not order them to wear the burka. Some Muslim women wear
a burka because they want to, and not because they are forced to.
